Multilingual Typing

The current implementation requires the user to manually switch language before typing any foreign word.
Other popular apps currently support multiple languages at once, which is a more suitable solution for every non English-speaking user, and for every user that constantly writes sentences in multiple languages.
Thank you.

  • I really hope they read this one. Manually swithing between languages is not that difficult but having it do that automatically, like Gboard does, wold be absolutely great.

  • Good idea yes because when you forget to change the language you have fault with the corrector and that not easy to remind that

  • Please add prediction of candidates from all installed languages. I use 2 additional languages just because of auto correction.

  • Please, consider adding kind a mini map of used languages on the space bar, so I can see to what language I gonna switch. When using 4 languages simultaneously, is irritable to swipe the space bar 3 times. Thank you very very much!

  • We need that for a better expérience in Flesky

  • Once "swiping typing" feature is added, bundling 2 or more languages will compromise prediction and accuracy.
I noticed that using Gboard and Swiftkey, even though Gboard is doing a better job with it.
That's why the best swiping keyboard ever, the original -Swype -, didn't have the option to use more than 2 languages at once. Unhappily Swype is gone.
It is no big deal to switch languages on the go via a language key or swiping the space bar..
However it is a good idea to give users the option in settings to bundle languages or not.

  • Yes you're right, because swipe typing heavily relies on prediction and auto-correction, and multiple dictionaries heavily weaken the performance and reliability. But a lot of people prefer to type the traditional way and would happily choose multilingual typing over swipe typing.
Personally I write in both Italian and English every day, so switching language every minute via a language key, by itself places the app behind the other competitors.
Which is a shame, because I think it's so much better in almost everything else.

  • Well, the best keyboards out there, and believe me, there are not much really good ones left, have the option to swipe or slide or glide or whatever they call it.
Users will enable it or not if they want, but the option is there.
Believe me, on smartphones swipe typing is a must , just very convenient when you get the hang of it.
Many users give up swiping on the first day, specially because they try it on a not really good swiping keyboard.
    Just make this experience:
Try swiping instead of tapping for one week.
Try it on Gboard, since the best one - Swype (from Nuance) - is gone.
I bet you will get hooked.
Anyway, the more options a keyboard have , I mean, functionality rich ones, the more successful it will be.
And making them optional in settings will make this keyboard a real winner...

  • A Gboard le dejas presionada la barra de idiomas y eliges el idioma que quieres también esa opción es muy buena.

  • I hope it does too, or at least I hope it gets an official response from the developers. It's really a shame that Fleksy is still behind in such a key feature, when it's ahead of the competition in so much of the rest...

  • I don't understand why they are sleeping on such a feature, it would make Fleksy my favorite keyboard out of the entire playstore if it did, unfortunately I still rely on gboard because of this missing feature

  • One more vote from me. I love Fleksy, but I keep going back to SwiftKey because of multilingual support.

This is an extremely important feature for every non English speaker using the Internet these days.

  • I appreciate the fact that it supports multiple languages. It would be amazing for you guys if it could get up there with Gboard and SwiftKey and it could support at least two simultaneously. I don't even like the Samsung Keyboard because of this. Having to constantly change can be a hassle when you you are talking to freidns or family who are bilingual and you are constantly switching between the two.
