Fleksy Roadmap - January to March 2019

Here is a brief overview of what we are working on! This is our way of being transparent with you, so you can see where our time and energy is focused. Hopefully, it will give you a better idea as to when you can expect the features you have been patiently waiting for 😏

(Disclaimer: not everything goes as planned and sometimes issues arise, bugs appear, and setbacks sink in. While we will do our best to make these updates happen in Q1 they are subject to change.)

Q1 Objectives:

1) We will implement fleksynext, offering you predictive services, based off of the conversations you are having.

  • For example, if you type; "Do you want to get sushi for lunch?" Yelp will appear. If you click on it it will show you Japanese restaurants in your area.

2) We will start rolling out our AI-powered Next-Word-Prediction in English

  • Our AI algorithm will help you type what you want before your thumbs hit the keys.

3) Language Updates

  • Improvements to dictionaries & auto-correction

  • Adding Vietnamese, Basque & Galician

4) Emojis

  • Android pie Emojis 🥰

If you have any additional features you want to see us add, please post them to the Community Ideas page http://bit.ly/2RM08mE

    Great Questions!

    Susann,

We cannot yet release a list of languages. We will let you know when we get closer to the release 😉

    Corbin,

We work off of the calendar year, so Q1 is January 1st - March 31st.

As always, fleksynext will keep what you type on your phone. We will work with partners such as Yelp to offer suggestions depending on what you type. To keep our fleksynext private, the corresponding recommendations based on the keywords you type will be pre-loaded inside the app - keeping everything local. If you click on the recommended service, only the word related to the service will be sent to our partners API and nothing else. For example, if you type “should we go for sushi tonight?” - only the word “sushi” will be sent to the API in order to generate search results for sushi around you.

  • Klingt gut 😘 Welches sind die 10 Sprachen, ist Deutsch vielleicht auch dabei 😘

  • I know many places are different - how is "Q1" defined? Are we looking at slated (hopeful) feature releases by March?

  • Also, given the company's privacy claims, how will Fleksy Assistant work? I would never use this and don't want the functionality to expose data on me to third party groups.

  • I hope that arabic is one of the ten languages to be updated.

  • Thanks for the open communication, John. I'm hoping to get more info though.

    1) Who defines the list? I'm hoping it's Fleksy themselves. Otherwise, if the 3rd parties can arbitrarily update the list, that's a huge attack vector or even just potential data leak increase.

    2) Is the list hard-coded or would it be using a regex? All they'd need to do is `[\s\S]*` for everything you ever type and I'm not super sold on that idea myself.

    3) Is this able to be turned off, just to double check?

Again, no disrespect meant - just trying to make sure I understand things properly ☺Y'all're doin' great work, as always!

Fleksy defines and controls the list. This is our platform for our users. No control will be given to 3rd parties for the exact reason you mention. We're on your side because we know how sensitive keyboards are.

    2) Is the list hard-coded or would it be using a regex? All they'd need to do is `[\s\S]*` for everything you ever type and I'm not super sold on that idea myself.

    It is hard-coded.

    3) Is this able to be turned off, just to double check?

Fleksynext will appear like a word suggestion does, and you can either choose to click on it or not, depending on whether or not you think it will be helpful. Therefore, there is no ON/OFF switch, but rather a decision to make your life easier or not... 😉

  • Thank you for your transparency and keeping the community well informed! I appreciate involved you guys are, it really shows how passionate you are about your product and helping your community.

Can't wait for these updates! There are a couple features I would've liked to see added, but these listed are more significant. Keep up the awesome work!

  • There are some news about this features? We're at the end of march

  • I've been a long time fan of the Fleksy keyboard, around 4 or 5 years if I can remember correctly. I'm what I would consider a hybrid typist. I use Swype AND single keys to text. I'm super excited to see that you guys are finally integrating swipe to text into your keyboard. It will finally be the perfect app! Looking forward to it!
